Gear constraints stay local. Your design is never uploaded.

Target reduction, tooth range, module, RPM, and center distance are searched only on the current page. RatioForge does not read CAD, upload parts, or connect to machine tools, PLM, or purchasing systems.

Concept screening, not gear-design approval

The tool searches single-stage B/A or two-stage (B/A)×(D/C) spur-gear combinations, ranking relative error in ppm before maximum gear and total teeth; center distance is estimated as module×tooth-sum÷2. Tooth-span is limited to 220. It does not check pressure angle, profile shift, undercut, contact ratio, strength, torque, efficiency, life, backlash, bearings, lubrication, material, noise, or manufacturing tolerance. Standard 20° pinions below 17 teeth especially require professional review.

Mechanical parameters may describe an unreleased design

Refreshing or closing discards current inputs and candidates. CSV contains tooth combinations, ratios, exact fractions, error, RPM, center distances, and mesh GCD; the report studio and optional local checkpoints read the visible summary. Product targets, transmission ratios, and envelope constraints may be commercially sensitive, so review them before sharing.

Local report studio

The report studio reads only the workbench’s currently visible result summary for local preview, Markdown copy, JSON download, printing, and a SHA-256 fingerprint. It never reads input controls or original files and is not persisted unless you choose to download it.

Optional local checkpoints

Only when you explicitly choose Save does the tool write the visible result summary, time, and optional short label to this site’s browser storage, up to five entries. Imported files and input-control contents are never stored; you can export, restore same-tool checkpoints, or clear them at any time. Imports are limited to 128KB and validate the tool, timestamp, summary, and label of up to 80 characters.
